Other MP Opportunities

I recently did 2 jobs that have nothing to do with real estate and suggested further business opportunities for the technology. An Atlanta architect is remodeling an old shopping center here in Brunswick, GA. I scanned the building that he's working on and uploaded. He downloaded the .obj file and imported it into his CAD program and now has as-built drawings with our having to stretch a tape measure.

My biggest resort rental client called Sunday with an emergency scan. A high end rental cottage had been broken into and relieved of a number of items, TVs and bedroom furniture among them. I scanned the entire house and the Indiana-based owner was able to tour his house and assess the losses. Crime Scene Matterport.

  • Very, very cool!! (Except for the break-in portion, that is not so cool.) It's terrific to hear about more uses of the camera, great work on breaking into new areas!

  • Great use of this technology. I'm working with a company that removes belongings and then returns them to their exact places and using MP Space for the audit.

  • Good stuff! I'm curious how many scans it took to do a shopping center. I've never exceeded 100 scans.

  • So far, I've scanned a hand full of charter jets, a Fleetwood RV, and several limos. I have other opportunities for very large buildings but the MP limitation of 200 scans keeps me from commuting to the jobs. I have a pilot I cam currently working on. The building size is about 33k sq/ft.
