client cant get any matterport links on their website

I have a client who says that their website provider can not get the 3D spaces on their website due to the question mark in the web-address in the model. Like this one "<iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=St2bTrK4EZ5" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>". Why is this?

  • Hi @Anthony,

I have to say, this is not very common at all since question marks in URL's are very normal these days and I'm a bit surprised a website provider has issues with them. However, there may just be a workaround by using shortened URL's. Instead of using the following embed code...

    <iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=St2bTrK4EZ5" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>

    ...you can try this.

    <iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://goo.gl/OcaL6y" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="allowfullscreen"></iframe>

The only difference is the source link was shortened using https://goo.gl/.

If this works for your client, I assume they can use any URL shortener out there if they prefer.

    I hope that helps.

  • Hi @Matterport-Amir

Thank you for your input. i really appreciate it. I will let my client know to tell his web guy to try the new shortened address. If you don't mind me asking how did you come up with that address? I want to be able to do that for them in the future if that is what fixes it.

    Thanks again

  • no problem. There are many URL shorteners that can be found online, such as http://tinyurl.com/, https://bitly.com/, and https://goo.gl/, to name a few.

I hope these work for you too :)
