  • Very good question. We thought long and hard about this, and while we may change it in the future, we felt that having a community comprised only of Matterport users had some benefits. Specifically:

    • Community. It takes a special kind of person to jump into relatively new technology. We want to celebrate that, and give you a chance to connect.
    • Value for users. Our goal is to help you send ideas, get answers, and stay productive. With every member aware of Matterport, there is less chatter and more relevant info.
    • Quality of questions, answers, and feedback. Users tend to ask more specific and better questions than the Internet at large.
    • Noise. Some people love starting turmoil. Without public users, we get to spend less time policing and more time engaging.

    Love to hear your thoughts!
