Why is the trim option not cutting splash

I had a dollhouse view come out with huge splash at front door of lobby after processing with a trim line, I copied the model and replaced the trim line again, uploaded and it returned the same way. See attached images. 2016-12-21-17-57-31.jpg

  • @Rick Lozano you can trim this off but if you have a scan point inside that area it will not trim that off until you delete the scan that is in the spray area. Do you have a scan out there?

  • No don't shoot outside necessarily, it's sometimes because a scan was in that spay area that the trim tool didn't work.

what if you put trim around both sides of the space.. can you try that and see if it works? make sure the cross hairs of the trim lines meet each other. do you know what I mean?

  • I trimmed off the spray with the trim tool.

  • Lisa can I make the change and upload or should I make a copy of scan? I think you mean to create a second trim in opposite direction at the door, is that correct?

  • I always make copies of my scans (good habit) .. I suppose you could draw trim lines all facing in around the splash and upload.. it would probably get trimmed off but I placed my trim lines around the edge of the model and it removes them also. You might have come up with a new idea!

  • I know I am late to the party....

Did you ever make a copy of the model in the capture app as Lisa suggested? I would do that first!

Is there a glass door that was not marked properly? That is what it looks like from the image.

Unfortunately, it is one of those freak things that take a little trial and error to get it right! Keep posting back and let us know when you get it fixed.

  • Hi @Rick Lozano,

Sorry this reply is so late, but it looks like our awesome community members were able to help out :)

For what it's worth, I don't think you need a trim mark in this case. Just placing a window marking along that wall will do the trick to clean up all the mesh outside. It looks like it's all coming from scan position 15 in Workshop, but making the window marking from wall to wall is probably best.

Anytime I add/remove scan positions, creating a duplicate model in Capture is highly recommended. However, when I just mess around with markings, I usually don't make a copy.

    I hope that helps.
