Floor Plan instructions

We need the capability to give some instructions, when needed, at the time we place an order. Sometimes when a home is staged, the stager will use a small desk/office chair to place in a bedroom - but it is actually listed as a bedroom (not an office). When floor plans are created, the room is identified as an 'office'. I place a Mattertag in the room explaining to label as a bedroom, I label the room as a 'bedroom' in the Floorplan view and email with my request. Still comes back as an 'office'

  • Hi @Bill,

I think you're right and a better way to preempt a wrong label would be very helpful. Considering the time constraints the floor plan team is working under, whatever tool is created, it would have to be scalable. I'm pretty sure the team uses the OBJ file information to get measurements and layouts instead of Workshop. Therefore, they don't always get a chance to see any labels or Mattertag Posts created in Workshop. That said, adding these labels before ordering the SFP certainly can't hurt :)

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Thanks for the explanation. Makes sense with the use of the OBJ file. I currently edit them.

That is funny you said that about room names! I always laugh about what the rooms are named.

I always scan areas that I want in floor plan but not the actual tour. For instance, I will scan garage but never keep it in the final product. It seems like most people just stick everything in there to get the home ready for showing. The floor plan came back as garage/storage. On the same one it had a room labeled billiards because it had a pool table.

I can fix it in about 2 minutes, so it isn't that big of a deal but funny what they call rooms.

  • Its seem to be the same problem day after days. When i order floor plan normally its fast to receive it. I have to send request for each floor plan hi order. They always call the PATIO, BALCONY or DECK, THE PORCH and never they put the measurement, just what to know if I am the only one who ask for that? Thank you!

It will be nice to give instruction when we order, we will save some time.

  • This would also allow us to use different languages.  My customers speak German and that means that I get to fully re-document all floor plans.
