Video Screen capture recording choppy / shaky - Any Solutions?

I see that quite a few people have encountered this issue but I haven't found a solid answer yet. To re-cap, I screen capture my highlight reel to produce a teaser video for my clients. The highlight reel plays smooth on it's own but gets choppy once I start screen recording. I have used Quicktime and Camtasia. The help centre at Camtasia is stumped. They looked at my Computer System File Report and everything seems ok. I tried a lower screen resolution and closing everything else but no improvement.

So, your computer does fine while you just play the reel but as soon as you play and record, it starts to slow down?

    1. Clear cache
    2. The memory is insufficient in graphics card?

I googled your graphics card to make sure you had typed it correctly in mb. I would say you need at least 2gb.

Doing video is very demanding on a computer. I have a laptop PC with 16gb and 2gb graphic card. I cannot put more than one clip with audio in Adobe Premier pro. If I put a second clip, the audio is dropped. I have to use the other computer to do multiple clips.

I hope this helps and hopefully someone else with a Mac comes in.
