[7/27/17 Newsletter] WebVR expansion, additional language support, and more!
|
|
Matterport Scenes is a smartphone app that enables interior designers, construction professionals, architects, and more to scan small objects or rooms to create, share and collaborate around a small 3D model, take measurements from jobsites or design projects remotely, and more. It works on devices with the Google Tango platform.
While Matterport Scenes is not a replacement for the Matterport Pro or Pro2 3D Camera, we are excited that we are able to leverage the Matterport technology for other use cases such as this. If you have an Asus ZenFone AR or the Lenovo Phab2 Pro, or want to purchase one to augment your service offerings, we encourage you to check it out. For regular updates, visit the Scenes section of the Community.

This is the most important part "While Matterport still plans to support our existing Matterport VR apps, behind the scenes we’re making a long-term transition from Unity3D to a single WebVR implementation. For users, this transition will be seamless and may go unnoticed, but for developers this will allow for faster innovation." - got it, will look forward to the WebVR future...
And thanks for the German language support in showcase!
Hi Sibyl,
as you announce "Now, you can share your Matterport Spaces with a huge national audience" it would be very interesting in having valid and proofen data of this audience.
From my experience most people owning e.g. a GearVR headset are developers - so no possible customers. Also people owning cardboards got these on exhibitions and fairs and like most apps on smartphones they use this once or twice and then never again.
Are there any profen statistics available?
Especially for us it would of be interesting which difference is between the countries or regions.
Thanks in advance.
BTW: using the App on a Pixel is still horrible and difficult and the look and feel of the WebVR Version is not so good as from the app.
Will also provide feedback for the german translation via email.
