  • @Alex Borghi Are you asking if Matterport will remove the their identifying logos? The answer would have to come from them but I presume that answer is 'NO' and you cannot remove the Matterport information - we agree to this when we we use Matterport. All of this is in the legal section [https://matterport.com/legal/]

  • Hi @Alex Borghi! @Lisa Hinson is right that the official Matterport position is that we highly discourage and do not permit the removal of our branding. That said, we are investigating our branding treatment and hope to be able to respond to some of the customer feedback in Q1. Thank you for your input and please feel free to share your ideas on how you would prefer the branding to look.

  • @Alex Borghi, I'm sorry to hear you are so frustrated. As I mentioned, we are actively working on changing the branding early next year and rather than throw in the towel, we would LOVE to hear your constructive input and feedback. Thanks!

  • Believe it or not, I have customers that dont want my company branding on the tours we do for them. You have to give them what they want so now for a fee of $19, I provide a check box on their order form that says "Remove all Company Branding from my tour".

  • Did this get resolve yet? I had completed two scans and introduced it to paying customers. The customers canceled our scans and I lost the money (Over $6,000) because the damnMatterport logo COULD NOT BE REMOVED!!! The powered by Matterport logo causes MAJOR issues especially when dealing with clients that CAN NOT HAVE branding! I've been a photographer for over 25 years and agree with my clients. FORCED Branding IS NOT RIGHT!! Especially when your site says you can remove branding! When is this going to be resolved!

  • As for constructive feedback. Its pretty simple. Remove branding means remove all branding with no tricks in your legal notice! You would gain a lot more business by letting your customers spread the word for you rather than forcing the issue and sneaking it in!

  • Hi mike-6! I think you might have missed the newsletter or posts that went out this week. =) Our product team has been hard at work for the past few weeks focused on figuring out a way to have the Matterport branding less prominently featured. Check out the newsletter that was posted earlier this week. Now, as soon as you start navigating through a space, the Matterport terms at the bottom right hand corner automatically disappears.

  • Hi @mike-6, we can tell from your posts that you feel very angry that Matterport features it's name anywhere at all, but the reality is as a company that has invested countless dollars into R&D we still have to increase brand awareness so customers think, "Aha, we need to get this 3D tour!! What is it? Oh, it's Matterport." =)

When they have that realization it's Matterport, it makes it much easier for the customer to reach out to us so we can send these scan leads to MSPs. We have registered that our MSPs are looking for more leads and have increased marketing spending over the past year to get those leads, but the little branding on the bottom (which now disappears as soon as you start navigating) also helps. It's really tough to find the perfect solution. We are truly trying to balance the needs of our customers and while driving awareness. Hope you can understand. We do appreciate your feedback!

  • What they offer is nothing because you are still brand. Take Vimeo, if I am a professional and pay for it, the branding is removed. Your customers already signed the term of usage when they made the order. After that no where at ANYTIME should it say Powered by Matterport especially when you are already getting a monthly residual for the service.

  • Hi @mike-6 - I wish I could say that we could move immediately to no branding at all, but as per my post below, I tried to explain it is really hard to move to zero branding when the company has invested significant dollars into R&D and still has a the tall hurdle and challenge of increasing brand awareness to help drive more leads to MSPs. We understand you do not want to see any branding whatsoever, but in this delicate balance we DID beta test and survey customers in an attempt to strike a balance. We are trying our best and as I think our customers have noticed, we are actively engaging our customers to get more and better feedback.

  • Well I have to disagree! FYI that customer that was going to pay $6,000 for the custom web site, the 15 hours of scanning I lost and put together went out and purchased a Matterport! Yep you win and I loose, I get nothing for advertising your product other than lost business.

  • @mike-6 I had the same issue this week and close to the same amount lost. There has to be a better way where it's a win-win deal.

  • My camera is useless right now. I cannot use it. Im a professional photographer. Im not used to display any logos on my final product. I will return or sell this mistake i made. I will also make sure people dont make the same mistake I made by pointing out that you force on consumers to display your company logo in all the work we do using your product. And the answer is we are working on that? It means that you will make us to display a smaller logo. Also the lack of control of the footage is no good. Its like the new president. He wants his name everywhere. your forcing advertising starts working against you now.

  • Let me try to understand this "I tried to explain it is really hard to move to zero branding when the company has invested significant dollars into R&D and still has a the tall hurdle and challenge of increasing brand awareness to help drive more leads to MSPs." It looks like Senior Trump advisor Kellyanne Conway with the alternative facts. Your excuse is just ridiculous. My client care less how much the maker of my camera invested so he has to display your logo on their purchased product. Your excuse is just a joke, it is a total disaster and it is not acceptable.

  • I think all the buyers of this very expensive camera would agree in a class action for removing your logo. We cannot be forced and force our clients to do free advertising for you, after paying the full price for this camera.

  • So if they want to use the excuse of R&D dollars is pure bull! They sell the camera for $5,000 and lets say they sold 5,000 thousand cameras per year. FYI: I have torn apart the camera and cost is about $580 in parts. This alone is 25 million which more than covers R&D cost. They have 61 million in funding with a annual 35 million in revenue. And then lets say 5,000 customers in hosting per month at $500 each. This equals 35,000,000 million per year. This is really close to there revenue. Them adding the logo is PURE GREED!!! Its a shame because they have a good product and soon they will end up like a GoPro. Greed will take down a company that doesn't think about the professional market. It just sucks I spent $5,000 for a damn camera that has branding which screws up my ability to continue to provide professional services. And this is simple public stats and reasoning (https://datafox.com/competitors/matterport) Note they many other competitors are starting to follow them now and soon they will be run over because of there in ability to think about the true industry. Again, GoPro is a good example of a company that thinks they rule a market and because they don't think ahead will be their own doom. If Matterport is to survive it takes people like us to try to let them know that what they are doing is pure bull and should think about the future. Pass the word....

  • I just purchased a camera for my business and that was one of the questions that I had, what if after a presentation the customer decide to buy the camera, is there a way to get a commission for doing all the sales pitch? How can we as service provider can become a distributor? Think this way we are a walking billboard, we have to advertise our business and sale it and with us as business owners, Matterport wouldn't have the overheads like a full time salesperson, by the end of the year Matterport would issue a 1099 for us as distributors and that would legally take care of all the money and taxes paid to us . This is my questions, how can we become a distributors? Because I know an industry that could benefit a lot with this technology but they would have to buy it instead of use a service provider, so how can we find a common ground, so it will be a win win situation?

  • Actually its not that tough to find the perfect solution, as I've posted a comment with a question how to become a distributor, I explain that everybody could benefit from this, I would rather make some money in some kind of commission than nothing at all. How that would work? We service providers, all have websites, if someone decide to purchase the camera after our sales pitch a link in our website would take them to the Matterport website for purchasing and you guys would know who've sold it through that link and a 1099 form would legally take care of all the money paid to us, no in house sales personnel overhead, I not saying to fire your sales team, what I'm saying is to expand your territory, think outside the box, there are some industry that could benefit from the technology but they have to own the camera and not hire a service provider. So lets work together Matterport.

  • You need to go to the other forum. They float great ideas but Matterport reads every post.

To your question, I do not do this but if you knew how to build websites, you could do layers to cover up the tour until it loads. I am sure if you aren't familiar with building websites, contact a web designer.
