Embedded Media - Youtube - Fullscreen is unavailable

Hi there, we are very happy with the new feature to embed media inside the showcase. One issue though is that in most cases when embedding a Youtube video is says: "Fullscreen unavailable". Anybody knows the cause of this issue? We really would like to give our clients the opportunity to see the videos in fullscreen.

  • Hello Matthijs,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I wasn't able to duplicate this issue on my 2012 Macbook pro using the latest Firefox browser. If you can send the space and youtube link, along with broswer and computer model information to support@matterport.com we would be happy to troubleshoot further.

    Cheers,

    Bob

  • Hi @bhorn, thanks for helping out. We have brought it down to the following:

Fullscreen working: using the MP link https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=4s92ARZUpdm (embedded video in the kitchen on the table)

Fullscreen not working: using the embedded code provided by Matterport <iframe width="853" height="480" src="https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=4s92ARZUpdm" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

This should be good enough to check right? Thnx!!

  • I'm not able to replicate your issue in either Internet Explorer or Google Chrome on Windows 8.1. Whether through a direct link, or an iframe, I can go full screen on the embedded Youtube video in the Mattertag on your space.

Try changing the allowfullscreen attribute to allowfullscreen=""

Note that is two double-quotes after the equal sign.

  • Hello Matthijs,

Thanks for the additional information! I tested both the link and the embed code, (embedded in a blank html page), in Firefox and am unable to reproduce. I also tested on my pixel phone using the chrome browser and it functions there as well. One possibility is that the issue is related to the site building software being used. We have seen issues with the ability to allow iframes go to full screen with site created using WIX. The good news is that back in March Amir wrote an article detailing one method for working around this issue. Here is a link to the article:

  • Hi @Matterport-Bob @chrisandkarenmang thank so much for your help and apologies....it was an issue on my side! There was a typo in the "allowfullscreen" parameter on our sites + we did some quick tests in w3school iframe tester which somehow ignores the fullscreen capability. All set again! :) Thanks!!
