Matterport & Leica BLK360 integration is in beta testing and is not fully functional. We encourage you to try and give feedback, but it's not intended for critical, sensitive, or client work yet. Use on a backup iPad if possible.
After every successful scan, point cloud data is automatically transferred from the Leica BLK360 to Matterport Capture so the last scan can be aligned with previous scans.
Scan data is also kept on the Leica BLK360. You can export this scan data (the point cloud) and use it on a third-party program like Recap or Revit.
You can also export the point cloud data to Recap. Learn more. Change the setting to HDR Off if you want to export to Recap. BLK360 scans with HDR 2 to 5 cannot be exported to Recap.
Export to Your Computer
First download the BLK360 app from the App Store. Turn on the BLK360 device and connect to it over WiFi.
Next you will create a new project and then add your existing scans to this project. Open the BLK360 app. Tap NEW PROJECT + on the app’s home screen.
Create a simple name and then tap CREATE PROJECT.
Tap OPEN. Make sure you are still connected to the BLK360 device. You may have to go back to the main menu and then tap the BLK360 icon to make sure you are connected.
Tap the thumbnail of the scan from which you want the point cloud data. The preview image can help you, but it’s easiest to look at the date and time to choose a particular scan.
The data will transfer from the BLK360 device to your iPad. This may take a few minutes.
Finally, you will export the point cloud data from the project. On the left sidebar, tap the export-folder icon at the very bottom. Tap POINT CLOUD and then EXPORT.
Tap SHARE. From here you can share to all your other devices.
- If you have a Mac, you can use AirDrop to send the file directly to your Mac.
- You can also use iTunes and a Lightning-USB cable to export directly to your desktop computer. Learn how.
