I can't open a Matterport VR Space

Check the System Requirements

Check our normal system requirements for Matterport VR.

If you are trying to stream through your web browser (WebVR), then check our system requirements for WebVR.

Update the Matterport VR App

Make sure you are using the most recent version of the app. Learn more.

Is the VR Space public and VR-enabled?

Check with the owner of this VR Space. They may have changed the sharing preferences to Private or turned the VR link off. Learn more.

Tap the Link on a Smartphone

Copying and pasting the VR link into a mobile phone browser will not work. You need to tap the link so it will open the Android System Chooser menu.

More simply, you can just tap the VR button in 3D Showcase.

Links that start with https://mttr.pt or https://mpvr.app.link do not work across all platforms. Make sure your link follows this format: https://my.matterport.com/vr/show/?m=*

Change the Default App Settings in Android

You may have configured Android to open the wrong app for this type of link.

Open the Settings app on Android.

The next steps vary depending on your version of Android.

For Android 6.0 Marshmallow:

Applications > Default Applications

Set as default > Chrome > CLEAR DEFAULTS

For Android 5.0 Lollipop:

Device > Applications

Default Applications > Internet (or Chrome) > CLEAR

The next time you scan a QR code or tap a VR link, tap the Matterport VR app first. Then select ALWAYS.

If you use the same phone for both Cardboard and Gear VR, tap the one you want for right now and then JUST ONCE
