Take a Photo or 2D Snapshot

Before you begin

When can I take a snapshot?

  1. In the Inside view
  2. In the Dollhouse view
  3. In the Floorplan view
  4. In 360º view

You cannot take a snapshot from a scan position, or a 360º view that's hidden - we recommend unhiding it first, then proceeding to take the snapshot.

I. Take a 2D Snapshot

Navigate to my.matterport.com. Find the space you want to photograph.

1. Click the pencil icon to "Switch to Edit" mode to make changes.

2. Click the camera icon in the toolbar to the right.

The subsequent "grid" view will allow you to frame your picture with higher scrutiny.

3. Select the 2D snapshot (flat photo icon) in the top-right corner. Screen_Shot_2019-06-11_at_10.52.52_AM.png
4. Click, pan, and hold the mouse button to frame the view you desire. Screen_Shot_2019-06-11_at_11.47.50_AM.png

5. Click the camera button at the top of the page to take the picture.

6. Use the zoom meter at the bottom of the page to better frame your image.

You can zoom in by 300%, and out by 70%.

7. Enable Asset icons.

To set asset icons to appear in your 2D snapshot, click the Settings button in the top-right corner.

Click "Include measurements, Labels, and Mattertag posts in photo".

7a. Which Asset icons will appear where.

Reference the table to discover which assets will appear in which view.

360º view

II. Rename the Snapshot

1. Open the snapshot.

Click on the "Media" tab, then click "Photos".

2. Click the image you want to rename.

You can enter your own unique title, or use the one automatically generated for you.

3. Download, set the start location, or delete the snapshot.

You cannot delete a snapshot if it is in the highlight reel - we recommend opening the reel first and deleting it there.
