Content distribution is an exciting way for your Matterport Spaces to get more visibility and exposure across the internet. With content distribution, your 3D Spaces automatically appear on partner websites — no input required from you.
For example, suppose you have a house listing on realtor.com. You then use Matterport to scan the house, making sure your model has the same address as the listing. Through a daily, automated feed from Matterport, realtor.com will learn there’s a Space for this address and attach the 3D Space to the right listing.

For real estate, content distribution is important because it expands the number of people who are exploring and enjoying a Matterport Space, thus expanding your pool of potential buyers.
Content distribution is an easy process:
- Scan a Matterport Space
- Add an address and verify it
- Opt-in to content distribution
Opt-in at an Account Level
You can set account level defaults for content distribution to opt-in or opt-out all of your Spaces. Later, you can override these settings for an individual Space.
First, go to my.matterport.com/settings.
Click on "Space Settings" in the left menu, then click on "Content Distribution". By default your account is set to opt-out.
Select the toggle to enable or disable content distribution as an account-level default. Click Update when you are done.
Opt-in or Opt-out Individual Spaces
You can also opt-in or opt-out at the individual Space level. For example, this is useful if your account is mostly residential real estate but you also have several Spaces with more limited distribution.
- Open a Space in Matterport Cloud. Enable sharing for the Space. This sets it to Public.
- Only Spaces that are set to Public are included in our feed to our distribution partners.
- Select "Apps" from the tabs above the Showcase. Click on Publish to our Real Estate Partners.
From here you can override the account level defaults from my.matterport.com/settings.
- Default - Uses the account level default setting
- Enable - Distribute with partners
- Disable - Do not distribute with partners
A Single, Valid Address
Content distribution requires a valid, verified address associated with your Matterport Space to work.
Sometimes you may have two or more Matterport Spaces that refer to the same address. For example, consider a lake house. You have a scan of both the main house and the private dock.
Another case is when you have several versions of the Space, such as the same house staged differently or before and after it was painted. In all of these cases, all of the Spaces have the same verified address.
Remove a Space from Distribution
If you decide to change a Space from opt-in to opt-out status then it will take approximately 24 hours for this status to update on our partner sites.

My Space Does Not Appear or Appears Incorrectly
The content distribution feed is updated on a daily basis. This means a maximum 24 hour turnaround between when you opt-in and your Matterport Space appears on the listing site.
Remember that your Matterport Space must have a verified address for content distribution to work. You may have to login to Matterport Cloud and verify the address, and then wait 24 hours for the feed to update.

Matterport shares the public, MLS version (&mls=1) of the Space. To comply with MLS rules, this means we do not include the following in the Matterport Space:
- Contact information
- Presented By information
- VR button
- Links in Mattertag Posts
Currently Homes.com only shows a link to the tour. It does not embed the full tour. For both realtor.com and homes.com, users can email email@example.com if they want to remove their tour.
I am an MSP. Can I opt-in for my realtor customers?
Yes, you can. However, we suggest you confirm with your clients that they approve of their Spaces being distributed. We suggest you opt-out at the account level and then opt-in individual Spaces as desired.
If I do not opt-in, can I still include Matterport Spaces on my individual listing pages?
Yes, Matterport content distribution opt-in is for automatic, more prominent display of Spaces with certain partners. You may still use whatever method you currently use to publish Spaces on your MLS.
My Spaces are not in the residential real estate segment. Do I have to do something?
No. A Space must first match a current for-sale or for-rent listing on the partner site. Only public Spaces that match a current listing can be shown.
I have a private real estate listing. How do I prevent it from showing up on partner sites?
Real estate distribution partners will only surface Spaces that match one of their existing listings. Public Spaces that do not correspond to a partner’s listing page will be ignored.
